One of the hottest rivalries in tech, Google (GOOGL) vs. Microsoft (MSFT), just swung in Microsoft’s favor in earnings season.Microsoft delivered an adjusted quarterly profit of 61 cents a share, topping expectations by 15%. Microsoft has now beaten earnings expectations five out of the past six quarters. Shares are up nearly 3% in afterhours trading. Shares closed up 36 cents, or 0.8%, to $43.34 in regular trading.
