The ride-sharing firm has named the Expedia boss as its chief executive pick, sources say.
David Brain, one of the more high-profile architects of Edelman’s expansion over the past decade into the world’s biggest PR firm, is departing the agency, the Holmes Report can reveal.
Brain, who has served as CEO of the firm’s operations across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (APACMEA) since 2012, steps down in May. He joined Edelman in 2004 to oversee Europe, relocating to New Zealand seven years later to lead Asia-Pacific, before adding the Middle East and Africa to his remit.
The WPP-owned media agency holding group, which controls more than $2bn of advertising spend, has been without a leader since the retirement of stalwart John Steedman in the middle of the year. In a statement Lollback said: “It is a great honour to lead GroupM in Australia, particularly at a time of acute transformation in our industry. Online property website REA Group has hired senior MCN executive Elizabeth Minogue to be its new executive general manager for media and property related services.The move brings to an end Minogue’s 12-year stint with MCN, where she is currently director for integration and content partnerships with clients including Foxtel, Discovery, the BBC, Sky News and Turner.
